he's fighting a difficult fate
Lovis has had a difficult little life since birth, He is suffering from a so-called "congenital pseudarthrosis of the tibia (CPT) and in need of surgery
- LovisLovis has a rare & complicated malformationborn with a rare malformation, the so-called "congenital pseudoarthrosis of the tibia" - CPT. He is missing a small piece of bone on his left leg, the tibia and fibula are not stable and are not connected to the ankle joint.This malformation only occurs in one in around 200,000 babies. CPT poses a correspondingly great challenge for surgeons and orthopedists. In order for Lovis to grow up with two healthy legs and walk through life healthily, a comprehensive and complicated correction of the bones from the thigh to the foot is necessary.This makes Lovis a typical case for our American leg specialist Dr. Paley. He is the only one with the know-how to operate on this defect in children from the age of 1. In Germany, this operation is only performed from around the age of 12.
